Weather alert: heavy rains, local thunderstorms from Tuesday to Thursday in several regions

Strong rainfall accompanied by local thunderstorms, snowfall, and strong winds will hit several regions of the Kingdom between Tuesday and Thursday, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology.

In an orange level weather alert, the DGM states that strong local thunderstorms (from 15 to 30 mm) will affect, today, Tuesday, starting from 6 p.m until Tomorrow at 7 a.m, mainly in the prefectures and regions of Taourirt, Guercif, Jerada, Taza and Nador.

Strong local thunderstorms (from 15 to 25 mm) will affect El Jadida and Safi tomorrow, Wednesday, from 6 a.m until 12 p.m, the Directorate added.

Strong thunderstorms will take place on Wednesday at 9 a.m and will last until Thursday at 6 a.m, and will mainly include the prefectures and provinces of M’diq, Fnideq, Fahs-Anjara, Ouazzane, Tangier-Asilah, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Driouch, Sefrou, Meknes, Fez, Ifrane, Tata, Taounate, Moulay Yaacoub, El Hajeb, Khemisset, Khenifra, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Fqih ben Saleh, Azilal, kelaa essraghna, and El Haouz.

Snow will fall (from 15 to 60 cm), on Wednesday, from 6 a.m until Thursday at 11 p.m in the provinces of Taza, Ifrane, Sefrou, Beni Mellal, Khenifra, Al Hoceima, Al Haouz, Midelt, and Guersif.

Additionally, the cities of Figuig, Jerada, Oujda Angad, Errachidia, Pullman, and Midelt will also experience strong winds (from 70 to 85 km / h) on Wednesday, from 12 p.m until 6 p.m on Thursday, said the same source.
