Renaissance de Berkane won the Moroccan Botola Pro title for the first time in its history after securing a 1-1 draw against Ittihad Touarga on Saturday evening, as part of the 25th round of the championship.
This result allows the Oriental club to reach a total of 62 points, widening the gap with its runner-up, AS FAR, to 17 points. With this comfortable lead, RSB mathematically secures the national title with five matches remaining in the season.
The match was marked by intense competition between the two teams. Oussama Mlioui opened the scoring for the hosts in the 67th minute, before Younes Dahmani equalized for the visitors in the 84th minute, sealing the draw until the final whistle.
In another encounter held the same evening, Wydad Casablanca was also held to a 1-1 draw against Ittihad Tanger. The Red and White had taken the lead in the first half with a goal from Warsh, before Bahja restored parity for the Tangier side in the second half.
Meanwhile, FUS Rabat took advantage of this result to claim third place in the standings, following a spectacular 4-2 victory over Chabab Soualem. This win keeps the team in contention for qualification to continental competitions.
