The 20th edition of the International Animation Film Festival of Meknes (FICAM) will be held starting May 6 to 11, marking its return after 2 years of absence.
This edition aims to pay tribute to Philippe Pethyieu and Veronique Augerau, the French voices of Marge and Homer Simpson, characters of the eponymous show, which was among the most popular animated series.
The Festival is organized by the Aïcha Foundation in partnership with the French Institute of Meknes. It welcomed David Silverman, director of many episodes and the feature film The Simpsons in 2017, confirming "the city hosted great personalities of the world's animated film," according to the press release.
Recently, Singer the Weeknd appeared in a new episode of The Simpsons, titled Bart The Cool Kid, voicing the animated character Orion Hughe.
The Canadian singer was not the first musician to voice the Simpsons' character, as Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, and Snoop Dog, among others, did the same previously.
