Covid-19: 97 New Confirmed Cases in Morocco, 5,505 in Total.


97 additional cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) have been confirmed in Morocco until Thursday at 10:00 am, bringing to 5,505 the total number of cases of contamination, announced the ministry of Health. The number of cured cases amounts to 2,124 with 107 new recoveries, while the number of deaths stagnates at 183 cases. In addition, the number of cases excluded after negative laboratory results is 49,604, according to the same source. The ministry urges citizens to respect the rules of hygiene and health safety, as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility and patriotism. The national strategy for deconfinement in Morocco will be presented, Monday 18 and Tuesday 19, by the Head of Government Saâd-Eddine El Othmani, before the two chambers of the Parliament. The presentation of the deconfinement strategy will take place within the framework of plenary sessions devoted to general policy questions addressed to the Head of Government, the two chambers said in a press release. At d-2 of the expiry date of the state of health emergency (fixed at May 20), the Head of Government will present his containment plan firstly before the deputies of the House of Representatives (Monday, May 18) , Then before the elected members of the House of Councilors (Tuesday, May 19). Several members of the government have recently spoken out on the lifting of containment. According to them, the deconfinement will depend on the level of the evolution of the epidemiological situation and on strict compliance with the provisions of the state of health emergency.
